Interesting piece of science.

I am skeptical.. Is IQ even an appropriate measure of intelligence?

Whether the study is accurate or not, it is true that the more educated you are, the more toward the Left you lean in social issues.

While I can see linking low intelligence to simple racism, I am much more sceptical with linking intelligence to any political views, even far right ones.

Yeah I actually don't see much value in this kind of thing. There are a lot of far-right boneheads, but there are a lot of "smart" people with ideas I find repulsive. Richard Butler (founder of the Aryan Nations) was an aerospace engineer at Lockheed Martin, for example, and William Pierce (founder of the National Alliance and promoter of the idea that all non-whites should be exterminated) had a Ph.D. in physics, which he taught at the university level.

It feels like a cheap shot based on rocky science.

I don't know what that means. Isn't every issue a social issue? Take gay marriage for example, lots of reformists support legalizing it because it brings equality or whatever. To them equality is just an ideal rather than a condition. They don't have much to say about religious hegemony either. So which is the left position? I don't think they're the same if you take into account the means.

Forrest Gump was of low IQ yet after being told to run he excelled at it.

Forrest Gump was of low IQ yet after being told to run he excelled at it.More likely, people with less access to education are more apt to accept messages they are given because unless it directly contradicts their experience, they have little to challenge these ideas.
Most people in the US believe all sorts of things about people in the middle east - where does that come from? Propaganda by a lot of smart and rich people and since most regular people in the US can't afford to travel, what they know about the region is most likely from movie novel and news based.

I disagree, i think their acceptance of the propaganda stems from their laziness of not wanting to do the research for themselves.

Have you done extensive research to confirm that the Panama Canal exists? I'd guess not and I'd guess that you accept it does. Why? Because you have seen some evidence, most people say it exists and there's nothing to contradict the idea of it existing. So are you intellectually lazy for believing this?
The ruling ideas of any age are the ideas of the ruling class. Millions of gilded threads tie information institutions such as schools, entertainment, major religious institutions, political parties, research foundations, think-tanks to the logic of the system. There is a huge amount of effort put in to convince the public that black urban populations are full of sociopathich monsters that just need to be locked up, that Occupy is full of crazed fire-bombers, that all Islam is trying to overthrow the US, and so on.
What about Ayn Rand believers or Young Republicans or people who work in think tanks or people who write books like the Bell Curve? All elite people with good educations and probably average or better wit and they are all 100% on board with some of the most idiotic and harmful ideas in the world.

I am completely serious. I dont know what i do because i was taught it, i know what i do because i decided to research it.

Let's assume just for a minute that your hypothesis holds.
But even then you have the problem of explaining the supposed laziness. Is it a "natural" phenomenon, just the way people are born (would also explain their class position since lazy people can't be bothered by the imperatives of getting ahead and so on)?
Or is it the way they have been developing their innate abilities (which every human being possesses), basically, through the interaction with their social environment?
And it's worthy to note that you're assuming that all people have easy access to the means of research (which also includes the basics of the education which could enable them to understand sceintific works). I don't even have to point out that this assumption remains unsubstantiated, and even worse, it's not even voiced.
And finally, again assuming that your wisdom actually holds, what would you propose with regard to revolutionary political work, in relation to these lazy, uneducated and uninformed people? And how would this situation reflect on the programme you'd support, as well as on your conception of the role and function of the political organization?

Internet usage in North America, as of 2011, is 78.3%. People know what theyre told on television isnt 100% correct and at times a flat out lie yet they choose to take it as gospel simply because they are too lazy to take the time to research it themselves.

Of course you wouldn't pay attention to all the points raised because, after all, it's nicer to pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for being scientifically proclaimed as smarter than the dirty rabble.
How about you addressing all the points raised? Or is your IQ not up to the task, huh?
And just to comment on this pearl of wisdom. You think that access to the internet amounts to access to the means of research, obviously disregarding what I wrote about the prerequisite knowledge even to superficially engage scientific works? I think it's totally ridiculous to suggest so, but hey, that's just me.

Your argument is null and void, if you have acess to the information then you have no excuse.

Information is processed, and access means nothing if there is no possibility of correct processing. I have access to information pertaining to the string theory in physics yet that means jack shit snd I won't be able to understand any of it.
But I won't go further since you're obviously unable to deal with the rest of my argument. So long.

Ok now cool down everyone :)
I'll just add one more counter-argument to what I already posted. People change their political ideas pretty fluidly in times of change. In the US when support for jim-crow policies declined and support for civil rights grew, did people suddenly all raise their intelligence or did the movements of that time challenge previously unchallenged general assumptions about what was normal and what was possible?

@TC
That's the way it is where I live (in the south). Usually the trailer trash and the dumb ones (not the smart ones, they are usually quite tolerant) are the ones who are racist/ignorant.
