We've all done it! Start by getting hooked on one song only to go overboard on the band as a whole. Usually it will last no more than 6 months to a year. I'm on a 6 year run with this and its managed to destroy any carpooling that I've been able to work out. I've seen them several times live and they fucking rock! Obstacle 1, NYC, Not even Jail, Pace is the Trick,..etc. They are huge in South America(just like me)!

For some reason, I was thinking of COINTELPRO rather than the band. Anyway, I know of them, but I never listened to their music. Recommendations?

Turn On The Bright Lights and Antics are their only really solid albums. Our Love To Admire has some decent tracks and their latest self-titled is pretty mediocre with the exception of the track "Barricade" which itself isn't anything special.

I remember the first show they did on the west coast. Secret Machines opened up. Interpol killed it and the applause at the end was so loud that Paul Banks looked out to the crowd to see what was going on only to realize that it was for the band. Brilliant!
As for their last album I have found that I really didn't like them at first and they all grew on me.

#FF0000 has expressed everything I wanted to say.

Also, if I'm thinking correctly, they used(?) to have a policy of not playing two tracks from an album in a row. That's at least what happened when I saw them after Our Love to Admire.

pretty good band, I think. not my favorite but I enjoy them when my friends listen to them.

I own their first LP and used to really dig it, but now I'm not a fan at all. That sort of stuff bores me. To each his own, or whatever the phrase is, though.
