White privelage is the fact that you've never been pulled over simply because you are white; that you're not inherently viewed as a criminal first until proven otherwise; that you're more likely to get the job over a minority candidate simply because of your skin color... these kinds of things.

Most of the working class in america is "white." So the idea that we're "anti-white" is not only wrong, but insanely wrong. Maoists may be anti-white, but not the rest of us. We're pro humanism (not in the philosophical sense, but in the sense of all humans are humans, not just the white ones, or black ones).

How about now, do you think your wage is adequate? The end of child labor and growing wages are results of leftists struggling for better working conditions. You are a minority in the world, but white people make up the majority in most (emphasis on most, I'm perfectly aware of South Africa and Zimbabwe and what have you) of the countries they inhabit, and usually hold all the power in those countries. White-majority countries also have a long tradition of colonizing and then fucking over non-white countries, which ends up with them having a lot of power over those countries' politics and economy as well. So while we do make up only x percent of the world's population, we hold a disproportionate amount of power.

The "post racist" society does not exist yet by far, simply because the Jim Crow laws have been taken down. Societal prejudices did not just wither away and die in the 1960s. It is unlikely that you have been persecuted or misjudged as harshly or as frequently as most minority people in your country have -- people probably don't immediately distrust you as soon as you walk in a store. You don't turn on the TV and see blatantly insulting white guy stereotypes left and right. The media usually never suggests that there are things that "all white people must do".

The people who hold positions of power in our countries can be, and have demonstrated that they are, racist. As other people said so, it's in the class interests of white workers to get rid of oppression and exploitation. But even further it's in the interests of white people to fight against racism and oppression in general. Oppressions such as structural racism are used by the people who rule society to keep us weak and divided and make it easier to repress all of us by singling out scapegoats.

Here in Oakland, as a concrete example, anti-black racism is stirred up in the media and by politicians to increase repressive criminal laws. They have things like gang injunctions that prevent people from gathering in groups and now they want to use these laws against protesters and make political organizing a "gang affiliation". Of course it wouldn't fly to say we need cops to stop union pickets and protest marches, so instead they create myths of crazed black and latino youth and since there is a lot of segregation in our society, people in the suburbs will be more likely to buy into these arguments and turn a blind eye to racists police practices. Of course what does that get people: crime remains unaffected but cops get paid $90K a year while they are closing schools, libraries and cutting other services. On top of that, if you want to try and protest that state of affairs, then the cops have all these repressive tools they got from all that racists scapegoating that they can then use on protesters.

They oppress small groups and divide the population in order to rule us all. Solidarity, which can really only come from people fighting and working together is the antidote to that.

Because we do not offer a platform for fascism/nazism...period...for whatever reason and no matter how much we can debunk them in debate.
