No, in general we reject organised religion not individual adherents, there are plenty of Christian socialists here and also some Muslims.
Judaism has the extra complication that it is at least as much a cultural identity (some would even say ethnic/racial but i reject that) as a religious one.
I for one consider myself part Jewish and ingrained with Judaism while still being a atheist and also raised as such.

Do note that we have some young passionate well meaning anti-zionists here who sometimes have difficulty differing between Jews in general and zionists. If they give you hassel just report them to the mods and admins.

Don't confuse Judaism with Zionism, that's for sure.
I'm okay with the former, and the Jewish race in-general. What I'm against is an ideology of racism that advocates and practices genocide. There are Jews are who are against Zionism as well.

I oppose all organized religion. I dislike priests, rabbis, popes, clerics, etc. They disgust me.
I don't care about believers belieiving in what they want. However I hate their religious leaders using their positions more often than not to push their own political ideas on people, and fill their pockets.

Jews? I don't have a problem with. Rabbis, I don't like them. Muslims? No problem either. Clerics/Imams? Can't stand them. Christians? I'm fine with. Priests? Fuck them. etc. etc.

I was startled by the title, "opposing Jews." At first, I thought it referred to some controversy/disagreement between two Jewish authors or leftists. Turns out, it appears to be a question about the feelings of RevLeft participants concerning Judaism, although "Opposing Jews" could easily mean antipathy towards people who are Jewish, and, while Lenin was leading the Soviet Republic, he made a speech condemning anti-semitism, which can be viewed on youtube.

Anyway, AFAIK, there are no anti-semites on revleft; tir1944 got canned (and a good thing, too), and that was the end of that.

Jews as a cultural group =/= Judaism as a religious dogma and organized religion. Since zionism was brought up, a lot of orthodox Jews oppose it like the plague it is.

In the opinion of some secular anti-zionists, zionism is destroying the essence of being Jewish by absorbing it into the new, artificial, "Israeli" national identity. it seems like people were already discriminating against me in another thread. there also seems to be heavy subjectivity towards other religions (christians mainly). =/

It's not comparable to say "well I don't have a problem with Muslims or Christians either" because those are religious identities. Jews, believe it or not, are an actual ethnic identity, much like Arabs. It is not enough to just merely categorize them as a religious group that you "Tolerate".

Marx came from a Jewish family that had converted to Christianity (don't ask me why) and didn't consider himself a Jew. Many didn't see Judaism as an "ethnic group" or (worse) "race" in those days. Zionism was in its infancy at that point and it was with the rise of Zionism that Judaism shifted from largely being seen as a religion to being seen as an "ancestry" and "race".

How were they discriminating against you? Most people here (I imagine anyway) would be born into Christian society from birth (as it is dominant in the west), also it is a strong element of Conservative and right-wing politics so it is only natural that it becomes a criticism of a leftist forum.
