View Full Version : Stupid things about Liberals that aren't political

Let's vent some of our frustrating about liberals/social-democrats and whoever else. However, let's talk about their characteristics and personality, rather than just their shitty ideas.
- I've noticed with liberals, they avoid answering questions like the plague.
(people here will least answer questions or debate, even if their position or idea is weak. We at least try)
- Pretentious, snobby attitude. This kind of goes hand-in-hand with what I said above. They won't give you the time of day to debate an argument after they made a claim.
These two usually piss me off pretty bad. What about you?!
Made this thread out of lulz because I challenged someone on FB on their "lesser of two evils"-strategy, and now they won't even bother defending that stupid idea.

My mom is a liberal. The thing is she doesn't listen when you're talking to her about politics. It seems like she is, seems like she gets it, but then the next thing she says makes it clear she doesn't get it.

They talk how open they are to everything, and in the same time, they refuse to read any books written by communists, even if they dont have anything to do with politics!

This one gets me, because they regularly engage conservative talking points, and are no strangers to their ideas, but for some reason communist ideas are beneath them and are completely unworthy of even meriting a discussion. They just go "lol can't work" and then ignore you.
Just goes to show you, however much they claim to despise conservatism, it's certainly telling when they consider it a more legitimate ideology than what's to the left of them. Could it be perhaps because they fundamentally share the same ideological background...? No one can really say.
But the answer is yes.

the worst thing about liberals is how they are all personally inferior to me

I think political moderates in general are guilty of the non-engagement strategy. From your perspective it's asking a really tough question, for them they just can't be bothered having their beliefs challenged and stand up for them so they frame it as a "can't be bothered engaging with the EXTREMIST" issue to themselves so they can sleep at night.
Does anyone notice how the label "political extremist" is an appeal to authority? Like if your opinions fall too far from an accepted political norm manufactured one way or another by ruling class interests, it's "extreme" and can therefore be discounted on that basis rather than on a basis of in-depth critique? That's why I never discount fascists for being "extremist", rather I discount them for being racist, statist, etc.

Their unprecedented arrogance. Like how they automatically assume ownership over every movement with leftist connotations. Fucking charlatans.

Just about every one of them---I mean liberal politicos---is middle class, and acts like it!
They identify with our class enemies and its states, and they act like it, as commentors above mentioned.

They respect all your views and see the logic in them but just "don't think it would work".
seriously American politics are all emotional arguments and personal attacks, there is no logical debate.

90% of liberals I know think that the PRC is a communist country. I have to correct my mother every single time she calls it that. Believing a country is communist just because it calls itself so is like believing a country is a Democratic People's Republic just because it calls itself that.

Canada must be nice. Here, everybody thinks Hitler was a communist. I have to practice breathing techniques to stop myself from spontaneously combusting when I hear that.
I know this one liberal ... Okay, I know a lot, but the one ... this sums it up:
> Pro 'civil liberties'
> Supports the war on drugs because "pot kills you"
> Alcoholic
