Why do marxists dismiss the Kondratieff wave?

A definition would help. What is the K wave?
edit, I guess you mean the Kondratieff Wave? Well as I understand Kondratieff did not provide any explanation for his predicted "waves", they just happen. His theory may have some truth to it but its not a Marxist analysis of capitalism.

what the fuck is the K wave?
in about five seconds on google i found this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kondratiev_wave).
and verbal warning for spam. learning is here for these type of questions, if you don't know and can't be bothered to look, there's no reason to post, especially with such hostility.

That's a ridiculous premise for a warning. Surely if someone starts a thread in learning with, "what do you think of x?", the next logical question (if it is a question and not an answer, and the original post doesn't contain any information/a definition), is surely, "what is x?"

Wouldn't the tendency for rate of profit to fall cause a downturn in capitalist economies? And wouldn't extreme destruction of capital or exploitation of new markets (which tend to happen on steroids when capitalist economies get fucked up) cause it to go back up again, resulting in this sort of wave-like formation?

First question, yes. In the k-wave, the peaks can be caused by new technologies that improve productivity.. So, machinery/telecom/computer..etc cause peaks. I guess you could relate this to Marx's trade cycle since rise in productivity leads to more unemployment (?)

I don't think the issue was so much that someone asked for clarification, but how that person did so. Furthermore, it was just a verbal warning and it's good to keep the board clear of such comments, especially in the Learning section. And finally, unless you are really short on time it doesn't make sense to spend time writing "what the fuck is X?" when you could google the damn thing and know for yourself in the amount of time it took you to be unnecessarily hostile to another board member.

Well, where did you hear that marxists dismiss the K-wave? It doesn't seem particularly relevant to anything. In fact the wiki article states that "Unlike the short-term business cycle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_cycle), the long wave of this theory is not accepted by current mainstream economics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economics)." So if marxists AND mainstream economics dismiss it...
I think you'd need to provide some more to work with. What does the K-wave mean to you? Is it a series of observations? Then there is nothing to dismiss, unless the observations are flawed. Does it have some implications that contradict marxism? It seems like too soft a theory to provide much trouble for marxism. In fact, theory would probably be an inappropriately strong word for the k-wave.
