I think capitalists are starting to realise that their time is up: Marx's works are selling better than ever, we've seen a series of general strikes in past few years, the masses are becoming class conscious. What we are witnessing might be called the Third Red Scare: the so-called "Prague Process" which seeks to equate communism (even though none of the regimes which crimes they are condemning even claimed to be communist) and fascism/nazism, obnoxious and vulgar propaganda like "The Soviet Story", Council of Europe resolution 1481 (using an oxymoron "totalitarian communist"), declaration of 23 August as a day of remembrance for "Nazi and Communist crimes" (as if these two are comparable, ignorance regarding the term communist aside, we know who they are referring to), due to the anniversary of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (as bad as it is, they somehow always forget to mention the Munich Agreement which is even more shameful since Chamberlain, unlike Stalin who tried to create an alliance with Britain and France against Nazi Germany, never even intended to confront Hitler) etc And a logical consequence of this all (combined with Islamophobia, Zionism and in general far right atmosphere in the European public) is Anders Behring Breivik massacring left-wing youth on Utøya.

Good point, but anticommunism is today more aggressive than it was in previous decades. That's why I distinguished it from the usual bourgeois propaganda.
