Canada could face an Arab Spring-style “uprising” if Prime Minister Stephen Harper doesn’t give a clear indication in his meeting with aboriginal leaders here Tuesday that he’s prepared to take their concerns seriously, a B.C. native leader warned Monday.
...
“Otherwise, an aboriginal uprising is inevitable.”

Interesting, I will be eager to know what happens here as I don't hear much in the way of radical activity in Canada.

Now this I would definitely support -- there've actually been a lot of protests against the fucker here, but none of them have dented him. I only hope that if they were to go through with this that they would not go soft on Harper. Give him a serious uprising. He deserves it.

If peeps here are looking for info & resources please see http://www.defendersoftheland.org/

It's an umbrella coalition of indigenous rights activists, and has lots of information on and links to native resistance to genocide and ecocide. Many native communities here face similar problems, just as many face different problems.

The primary strategy that the Canadian state and capital have used against native peoples over the last 100 years is too simply wear them down. Make life unbearable. Launch endless investigations, complicated forms of bargaining, and just screw people over and over and over.

It's pretty explosive a situation.
