Greetings friends!

Aswel as introducing myself, I have a short question, which I hope, someone here can answer.

Okay, so a little about myself.. I'm a university student and also an autodidact, who's recently been swayed and energised by the works of Marx, Engels, Chomsky, Trotsky, Kropotkin, Alan Woods, Ted Grant, David Harvey, Orwell, Hegel(he inspired Marx, he deserves reading) and a few other gentlemen. I'm aware of the existing ideological discord between the names I have mentioned, but I'm relatively new and I am refraining from turning stale and dogmatic, thus I'm investigating a multitude of anti-capitalist ideas.

I'm currently attempting to read the first volume of Marx's capital, its note an easy read, because of all the jargon and abstractions, nonetheless, it's fascinating.

Now for my question.

What role would the 'lumpen-proletariat' play in a revolution? There seems to be, from by observations at least, an increase of disenfranchised, anti-intellectual youth in the UK, who form an underclass, or as Marx would call them, the 'lumpen-proletariat'. A lot of them are enchanted and recruited by the far-right.. it's a dangerous development.

Thank you for your time.

I'm also anti-theist, anti-fascist, anti-authoritarian, anti-Stalinist, anti-Maoist, in fact, I despise all forms of totalitarianism and dictatorship, whether it's by the left or right, and, I especially despise those who claim their dictatorship is warranted by a supposedly devine being.
