This is now a leftist grammar thread. Viva la spell cheka!

Can we also talk about sentence structure? In particular run on sentences. My friend Abbot used to write those all the time when he was trying to get his point across about the thing he was talking about, my friend Abbot did.:)

Spell Chekists of the world unite!
My pet peeve is people who type "defiantly" when they mean "definitely"
also this one guy who says "a anarchy" constantly.

I am a closet grammar freak. I have a love affair with the semicolon; JFK and Stalin would be proud.

"Defiantly" is a lot most interesting and conveys more color, I think, than "definitely," so good for the error-prone on that issue. That substitution would make for (unintentionally) interesting sentences.

"Spell Chekists" is extremely clever; I never expected to read that expression.

And would one really expect conventional spelling from anyone who is interested in anarchy? "A anarchy" is an interesting, improbable mistake, I think, because the phrase could only be used when comparing different anarchies (i.e., different varieties of anarchism), and one would expect an adjective before "anarchy" in that case, which eliminates the need for "an." Perhaps Agent Ducky meant one guy who says "an anarchist" constantly. (Just a guess, and I don't mean to irritate anyone. I just love language. I am almost as fond of language as I am of dogs [especially rotties].)

Not as bad as the people who type "rediculous"

I knew a girl who claimed to hate bad grammar and spelling type that once. The last few weeks I had spent talking to her suddenly went down the toilet after that.

It might make a more interesting sentence, but it can mess stuff up. Also, the guy who says "a anarchy" isn't an anarchist. This guy just says stuff like "What the hell do you even want? A anarchy? Haven't we proven that a anarchy doesn't work?" Except with much worse grammar than I typed right there. It's hard for me to type badly on purpose. I understand the love for language :D

The guy Ducky mentioned also uses the interrobang incorrectly. He just uses question marks and exclamation points for emphasis. Example: "Anarchist scum!?" That isn't a question, that's just him using "emphasis."
