And make it look like it's not my fault?
OK, you're probably thinking da fok?
Here's the story: I had a little scare the other day at my call center job. A woman was getting out of hand and becoming malicious, so I transferred her to the department for escalated calls. Apparently she made a complaint and my supervisor pulled me aside to listen to the call. We did this, and after hearing it, I made my point that I handled the call well but he said he still had to forward the incident to the HR people.
That night, I started developing a contingency plan in case I got fired. I would try for unemployment benefits, but if I couldn't get them, I'd start freelance tutoring Spanish and science like I had originally planned to do months ago, but couldn't due to my variable work schedule. At that moment I got an idea:
What if I got unemployment and also did the tutoring? I could make more money than I'm currently making at my job with a lot more free time to spare!
Well, the next day I came in and my super told me that everything was cleared up and no action was taken against me. The plan went out the window for the moment, but I started thinking of ways I could get myself dismissed in a way that would allow me to get unemployment. The way it works here is that you can get the benefits if you're fired for anything other than 'breaking policy.' I'm thinking maybe overtly talking about organizing a union within earshot of management, or maybe faking a nervous breakdown - I've come close to a real one before, and I am on medication that affects my mood.
Any advice? Opinions? This is probably a stupid and foolhardy idea, but it can't hurt to talk about it.
