Hello, I am essentially new to RevLeft despite my old registration date.

I am an ecohoxhaist.

Ecohoxhaism is a relatively new ideology based on a convergence between ecosocialism and antirevisionist Marxism-Leninism during the postmodern period. It suggests that one way we can achieve targets for ecological sustainability is through brutal repression of counterrevolutionaries within a state socialist framework. Ecohoxhaism also includes the green politics values of decentralization, feminism and diversity.

Ecohoxhaists also emphasize how Trotskyists aim to destroy the planet. For example, the NDP Socialist Caucus recently endorsed an arbitrary 25% cut in consumer gasoline prices. Also, the party Quebec Solidaire, which contains all sorts of revisionists, voted to oppose any sort of ecotax initiative. The broader NDP, which many Trotskyists support, endorsed deep cuts to gasoline taxes, other fuel taxes and electricity taxes. Of course, anarchists, who oppose all social coercion, are powerless to stop people who would seek to use as much gasoline as they want.

To clear up a typical confusion, ecohoxhaists are not enviro-Nazis. Green fascists support the basic capitalist system but want to make it "sustainable" by killing off large parts of the population and maintaining inequalities in resource use. Likewise, ecohoxhaists are not primitivists, who are mostly interested in becoming unshaven apes.

If you are interested in becoming an ecohoxhaist then I suggest you read all of Slavoj Zizek's books.

I was horrified but then I laughed.

Welcome.

Being horrified and then laughing is how I approach most events in my life.

Wow. Is "brutal repression of counterrevolutionaries" your best idea for achieving ecological sustainability? You are a Hoxhaist. :bored:

Actually, Ismail, it was Mulciber that was trolling. You can tell that because no one in Toronto is actually a serious IMT supporter. They are a joke group, like say Stephen Colbert's run for President and so on. They are really funny, though. One of their jokes is that socialism should be achieved by electing an NDP government.

Hahaha. I know, right? Because the real path to socialism in Canada is the path of an Albanian dictator who died in the mid-80s. After all, the CPC (M-L) did so well in the last election.

You Hoxhaists are adorable.

There are two big problems with your analysis:
1. Getfiscal isn't really a "Hoxhaist."
2. The CPC-ML hasn't described itself as pro-Albania since the early 90's. Hardial Bains visited Cuba in 1994 or so and was like "I WAS WRONG" and defended Cuba from thereon out as "socialist," plus many CPC-ML cadre hold a high opinion of the DPRK and also describe it as "socialist." That does not sound like the activity of "Hoxhaists" to me, considering that Hoxha denounced Castro and Kim Il Sung in fairly strong terms.

An "ecohoxhaist" is not a Hoxhaist?

At any rate, I regret getting off on the wrong foot with getfiscal, even if I think he was unnecessarily vicious in his reply. From now on, I'll try to avoid saying anything negative to people in the Introductions forum.

I apologize. It isn't nice to tease young Trots. So full of hope.

Does it hurt when you pat yourself on the back like that?(j/k)!

Welcome comrade I am just starting to get deeper into Hoxha, and will self flagellate appropriately.

Thank you. Also, thank you for having a Rodney Dangerfield avatar. I read a bit from a book by a liberal political philosopher lately that used Rodney Dangerfield as an example of how insisting on respect is a bad strategy for gaining respect.

When have Trotskyists supported the NDP?

Many Trotskyists support the NDP.

The Grant-Woods tendency (IMT/Fightback) typically joins the NDP, their slogan being "NDP to power on a socialist program". They have fronts like the Toronto New Democratic Youth.

The group Socialist Action (affiliated with 4th International types) is part of the NDP through fronts like the NDP Socialist Caucus.

The International Socialists (Cliffites) do not think the NDP can win socialism but they commonly organize in the NDP and held a meeting praising the Orange Wave and so on.

I think the Sparts oppose working in the NDP, though.
