The UFC is praised as an efficient organization that lets the best fight the best, but I've also heard they over-saturate the market, from a promotional stand-point. I believe lower level fighters don't get paid a lot, but it is still a fledgling sport and doesn't make the money Boxing does, and you can't expect much when the profits from the competition are controlled by a one-man owner of a company and his team. Combat sports are best regulated by a federation, IMO.

BJ and pulver both left UFC back in the day due to their negotiations for higher contracts being snubbed by Dana white, it speaks volumes that they could go to japan and make hundreds of thousands a fight, yet both returned to the UFC, the fact is while its a job, I believe most of the fighters want to be fighting the best and proving themselves to be the best, in my opinion the UFC has for the longest time had the best fights and the best stable of fighters.

I for one feel fighters should get their fair share after the blood sweat and tears they put into training, however I must admit Its nice that MMA for the most part, except a few exceptions, have fighters who are not as far removed from the working class fans who pay to watch them and are basically paying their wages, unlike football and other sports where people are earning tens of thousands a week.
