I would contend that this kind of behavior is in fact the norm rather than the exception, which makes it all the more disgusting.

We already have a thread on this video, but to the question (if it's a question) posed in the title I'd say by and large they're no more or less immoral than any other imperial military throughout history.

Without watching the video, I'd say its important to remember that our military is not made up of the best and the brightest.
Many of them are poor with low or no education beyond high school, they're given a few weeks training then handed a gun and told to go shoot people that dont talk like them. The military lets them get all shot up then ships them back home to rot by the side of the road for 30 years.
What, realistically, do you expect them to do?

Could of sworn the enlistment and training process were far more complex:lol:

Take a group of Ivy-Leaguers, break them down in training, put weapons in their hand and make them go into people's neighborhoods or villages to patrol a population that doesn't want them there and you'd get the same results. Education and whatnot have little to do with why this happens, the only link is that with education costs so high and job prospects so low, it's usually people with little college or job opportunities that sign-up.

Much adoo has been made in the media about service members pissing on prisoners. What strikes me is that the US military has killed a million people over there, but that doesn't strike people as "amoral."
I've met service members of all walks of life and level of education, and many ex-service members who are socialists or anarchists. You can't make sweeping assumptions about everyone in the military.

Typical of the military, i rarely met anyone in the military that didnt think little or nothing of Arabs/Muslims. The military, like everything else in the US, is just another avenue to make a person "better" than another.

This isn't the norm.
