Played till I was 15 and the club dissolved due to a suicide and burnouts of the organizers. (Run by volunteers)

Actually starting up now on monday again since I finally picked up my equipment again. (My girlfriend wants me to loose some teeth since it turns her on.)

The only rink/league here is about 34 minutes away through the city. I can't afford that kind of drive time. I also don't have my equipment anymore. I don't really have the money for equipment/ice time/team stuff either. :(

Maybe I'll just take up boxing/muay thai again.

Skating is actually one of the few things that I consider myself to be quite good at. I think it comes from growing up right next to a lake that was frequently frozen. Never played hockey besides in some informal settings (ie frozen lakes). Also some street hockey, but I was never as good at that. I gave a dude a black eye once playing hockey in New York.

On my lunch break and after work I would go to the local rink and just skate five line suicides. It was and still is my favorite form of cardio. Had I pursued hockey I could have at least played Varsity level college hockey just to toot my own horn.
