What the hell was that?
An animal of sort.
Well we know it was an animal of sorts it didn't sound like a fog horn I mean whawhawhawhat makes that kind of a sound!??
I've heard something like that before. Once when I was in Africa.
What kind of animal was it?
I-i-i-i don't mean the animal was familiar I mean the sound. It was a hunting call. Whatever's out there is carnivorous and it sounds very very hungry.

Can't remember the names of them, but I was obsessed with dinosaurs as a lad. I watched countless dinosaur films.

Dinosaur movies that I watched as kid were either stop motion animation, lizards made to look big (with a few prosthetic devices added) or men in suits. Stop motion was the best: Animal World (first 20 minutes,) The Giant Behemoth, One Million Years B.C.* (1966 version,) When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, and Valley Gwangi. Men in suits: Godzilla (and sequels) and Gorgo. Lizards: Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Lost World (1960 version.)
*There's a couple of shots of an iguana posing as a dinosaur near the beginning of the movie.

I grew up watching those old movies. Ray Harryhausen was the best.

not a movie-- (I was an Analog kid in the time before dvd's and other fine things) but grew up watching a whacky Saturday morning TV Sci-fi alternative dino universe series "Land of the Lost" c. 1974-76. Sibling creators Sid and Marty Krofft were notorious partakers of the good psychedelic era that produces hilariously bad tv. they also did H.R. Pufinstuff.

This thread is lacking the 1925 adaption of The Lost World, the carnivorous sauropod rampaging through London is quite classic.

When I was a boy this movie was only available in a truncated version of 50 minutes an d it wasn't until 2000 that a longer but still incomplete print became available.
