Where is Led Zeppelin?
Where is Pink Floyd?
Where are the Rolling Stones?
Where is Queen?
Out of the ones you offered, I'd have to go with either AC/DC or Black Sabath. Neither of which I am particularly fond of.

Where are The Ramones,The Sex Pistols,The Clash?Where are The Pogues or Parliment-Funkadelic?(I guess P-Funk isn't really rock, but still they're a lot better than most of these cock-rock bands listed. :P )

This poll is flawed and invalid by virtue of the fact that the Clash is not listed as a choice.
You have Saxon & the Scorpions listed but not the Clash or X??
Perhaps if you wanted to have a metal band poll but even then listing Saxon or the Scorpions and most of the rest is questionable.

So,why didn't you put a variety of bands in your poll, instead of just mainstream hard rock/metal bands?

It's a tie between AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. I went with my favorite out of the bunch, Black Sabbath.

that's what's interesting about these threads. If someone started a thread that said "What's your favorite band form the 70's", it might just deteriorate into everybody contributing a band name with no discussion. But the polls are sometimes too limited in their scope, and in this case it gave us discussion about who was left out and not the quality of bands. Oh well, just an observation.

Well the point is your poll is supposed to cover two decades and then has some truly crappy bands that don't deserve consideration and leave out so many that are deserving. And then half of them weren't even around for both decades so that makes it even worse.
Consider all of this to be constructive criticism.

Take for example my poll on Pink Floyd's greatest albums, they made many more albums than 10, so I left in teh poll the 10 best. It's hard to do that, though, with entire decades, so this poll is especialy tricky, one that I would never do.

19th March 2004, 00:42
Even though I would have said Led Zeppelin, instead of other, I chose Black Sabbath. The first band to sing about life and the hard side to everything, I love them, and I wasn't even born until '88!
