It occurs to me that this is a skill that would be useful for more or less every leftist to have.
Here's a good article I came upon on the subject: http://artofmanliness.com/2009/10/18/how-to-speed-read-like-theodore-roosevelt/

This would be easy to do when reading a newspaper, but Capital is a whole different story...

I don't know, I remember back in high school doing a reading comprehension test and it turned out that I remember stuff way better when I read it aloud than when I read it to myself. This was for concrete details and shit though, not the general gist of it which is really what matters after you do the SAT and such. Also I have ADHD so that may be part of it, I literally have to write down everything that the prof says to have any idea what the class was about.

I've been trying since middle school to get the hang of this speed reading.. Speed reading with spreeder helps, but with regular books I still gotta enunciate the words in my head: http://spreeder.com/

I think I might do this naturally. I read really fast and I actually can't slow down. To give you an idea I read the whole lord of the rings trilogy in three days at the age of 12.
This is its own problem, if i'm reading something really hard like Marx it will be a few pages before I realize I need to go back and read something again, which is awkward. Also its expensive to buy new books, even if I get them secondhand off the internet the costs mount up.
Any advice on how to slow down?
