Thoughts on La Rouche?

I know some about him cuz I've been cornered more than once by his supporters. Just wondering what anyone has to say about him so I dont get just one side of the story....

My old friend really hates the trots down here, because they brainwash university students, and are really annoying. It seems there might be a little conflict of sorts. Just last week, the trot paper contained a book review which was a critique of LaRouche. You might want to read it, as it contains a brief outline of his history:

He's anti abortion - anti homosexual - pro traditional family structure - very authoritarian -
So I guess that leaves out the average liberal or leftist.

His economic ideas sound interesting though. Anyone care to comment on this?

I do not know what to make of LaRouche... he makes some points on economics and foreign policy that are among the best the Democratic Party has to offer...

I have also noticed his people are spooky in the cultish kind of way... I saw a couple of them on the public access channel about a year ago...

What I found to be amazing is that LaRouche has raised over $5 million toward his 2004 presidential campaign. He has run in every election since at least 1980... he has raised more money than Kucinich, Sharpton, or even Gen. Clark... and he gets no attention... a situation that gets odder with every new detail, it seems.

La Rouche gets no media attention because he is not considered a "real" Democrat. He even lost a court case over it because of his fringe views. He's a wacko. If you see a La Rouche supporter, run away.

I found this (http://www.protest.net/view.cgi?view=2312) after doing a Google search for LaRouche. Its a protest.net article entitled "Lyndon LaRouche is a Fascist Menace." It talks about his '89 conviction for mail fraud and tax evasion, as well as an extensive discussion of his "coded" anti-Semitism. Sounds like a nasty bugger to me, but I'm going to do a little more research on him.
