What's scary about their atrocities is the fact that the German police and intelligence services have a large number of informants in these neo-nazi groups. With little oversight of what's going on in the covert world, individual nazis could be taking advantage of it or worse, the State could be using their informants to direct targeting against individuals.

Sound crazy? Just look at the policy of collusion and targeted killing promoted by MI5 in the North of Ireland during the Troubles of 1969-1998.
