what's yours?
Mine is to go to the gym 5 days a week.. cliche I know, but I was actually firmly in that habit for at least half of 2011, I just fell off when the holidays came around. so I know it's a realistic resolution.
figuring out a more specific tendency might be good too.
how about you?

My NY resolution is to keep up smoking...to never forget that my bad habits are a part of what defines me and that I will not give in to societally enforced ideas of when or when not I decide to change them ;) :)

I'm too sick right now to think of anything witty to say.
I never really liked new years resolutions. My mentality has always been that if you are going to commit yourself to something, just fuckin do it. For example, about 5 days ago I decided I wanted to quit smoking cigarettes. At first I told myself I'd stop smoking after NYE, but then I started thinking that there was no point in doing that. If I have the desire and commitment to actually do something like quit smoking, why wait til January 1st to do it? Anyway, yeah, I feel like I'm being a major debbie downer, but whatever, that's what happens when you get sick literally on new years.

I mean, on the whole I agree with you guys and I've always said the same sorta thing myself, but my current lifestyle probably isn't the best for my mental and physical health, so I'm gonna set myself a few goals:
- drink less
- more structure/routine
- exercise more (i'm fairly fine in this respect, could be better)
- be less of an arsehole...
That's about it.

Can't wait for 2011 to go away, been a shitty year overall for me. I don't make new year resolutions, they seem so phoney to me. If you really want to do something, do it for crying out loud!
Happy New Year to all comrades on here and around the world! :thumbup1:

Bazinga! Nox, you were just owned.
Leo the Left Communist keeps telling me to calm down. That might be a good start as far as changing behaviour goes. Trying not to be on RevLeft at 3am might be agood idea too.
PS: #FF0000, that is an awesome picture of your New Year's Resolution. Do you have it printed out on a card in your wallet?

I'm going to steal some of Woody Guthrie's resolutions:
Change socks
Wash teeth if any
Take bath
Write a song a day
Wear clean clothes
Read lots of books
Don't get lonesome
Stay glad
Play and sing good
Dance better
Beat Fascism
Wake up and Fight

But really here are my goals:
Write a song this year
Find a radical girlfriend
Get into college
Get drivers license

My resolutions are large and in charge but I will be taking them in baby steps to it will be fine.
1: Take the time and effort to learn the basics of Chinese (speaking and writing).
2: Continuously update my blog and my various stories.
3: Start working out again
4: create and stick to a studying schedule where I actually maintain the course directives.
5: earn my GED (this is probably the most important of all of them).
6: Earn my learners permit
7: Read a dozen books which have been sitting on myself forever.
...I think that is it.Ambitious goals,eh? But this is why I plan to come up with a plan in order to tackle said...uh,plan.Anyway,I will update everyone constantly on my progress.
