aliens socialists or capitalists?

Today I was talking with my friends in uni.We were talking about possible higher civilizations in the universe.We agreed that space travelling aliens must be socialists where equality & fairness exists.When they have higher intellectuality, there is no room for capitalism.There is no room for dicatorship as well.

But is socialism a necessary condition for advancing technology? How far do you have to get before socialism kicks in?

Our technology continues to progress (if slower than it could be.) There have been people arguing that capitalism has reached the end of its usefulness for nearly a century now, yet advances continue to be made, and I daresay life is better than it was before... all while remaining under capitalism. An inferior system doesn't have to be 100% ineffective.

Technology can advance without socialism. So why presume socialism follows necessarily from advancement? If it does, we revolutionaries are pretty pointless, aren't we?

look at the religious war between muslims & jews.Look at the opression among hindus,catholics.Are these kind of beings suitable for inter-galactic society.Look at the exploitation in capitalism as well.

Avatar is a great film. Anyways, I don't think we can possibly expect what aliens will be like. I don't think they'd be 10 foot tall really attractive creatures like they were in Avatar the movie which I really liked and cried through especially at the part where the animals came back and attacked because Eywa had listened. Anyways, maybe they'd be wild, plentiful, capable of inter-galactic travel but non-social. Imagine all our wildlife here on earth being able to travel inter-galactically but with special powers.

Actually Arthur C Clarke is wrong because there are distinctive differences between magic and technology since their two totally different paradigms (well have you played White Wolf's Mage: The Ascension?).

For one example you can't conjure demons/spirits/etc with technology (well wait...unless your trending to creepy pasta territory which might be the closest thing).
