Obviously BOZG has a legendary avatar and no one will ever challenge it. When it comes to other avatars I think my vote would have to got to NoOneIsIllegal. Normally I'd vote for myself, but honestly I never have spectacular avatars, mostly just me fan boying over Doctor Who characters. Though, if this was steam, my current, Roman Rory in a Santa hat would have to be in the top 20.

My avatar is entirely my own creation, with transparency and everything. It neatly encapsulates my political positions in the .GIF image format. The red, black and grey cogwheel symbolises technology, which magnifies the power of human labour. The Bohr atom stands for science, sitting inside the cogwheel as its beating heart.

The ouroboros snake represents eternity, and is coloured golden yellow to indicate the light of knowledge and the wealth of the world as it should be - going around forever without favour to any particular direction. Serpents (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serpent_%28symbolism%29) also symbolise sexual desire, guardianship and medicine (they also get a bad rap from Christianity which I consider a bonus). The green field represents earthly life, the necessary background to all human endeavour.
