Hi,

I am experiencing dizziness, it's like my head spins and I lose my balance. No pain in any part of the body. What could it be?

It happens when I turn my head while lying down, or get up after having laid down for a while.

I get a little light headed after standing up or laying down sometimes. Generally it's just because your heart is pumping slowly in your decreased activity and when you get up there is moment in time when you heart has to adjust to get more blood flow to your head... A lot of people experience that but yours sounds a little different. It could be an inner ear infection. It could also be caused by dehydration, poor nutrition, lack of sleep and stress.

If I were you I'd hydrate up, get some good food in you, get some rest and try and relax. If that doesn't help in the next day or two I'd see a doctor. Could be an inner ear infection or something else so you'd want to get that taken care of.

Happens to everyone bro. Fighter jet pilots do experience them often.

Edit : And the worst thing to do is to ask everybody on an internet forum. Ask someone qualified. aka a Doctor.

It could just be a head rush from getting up too quickly and having a rush of blood to or from your head. Otherwise you may want to get your ears checked by a doctor - it could just be some kind of ear infection interfering with your balance. That happened to me - it was a pretty strange sensation and kind of freaked me out when it happened.

Could you describe exactly what happened to you so that I can compare and see if it's the same with me? Also I don't have wax or pain in my ears.

Also I don't have wax or pain in my ears.I didn't have any way or pain either until a week or two after this happened. The time I remember best was when I was at work - I was standing and I went to reach for something and suddenly felt very strange and it was kind of like everything was strobing or in slow-motion for a moment and I was uncoordinated and basically just dizzy. At the time I thought it was dehydration or lack of sleep or something but when I saw a doctor they said it was an inner-ear thing and not to worry. Then later the usual sort of ear problems emerged so it does seem like that was the cause.

Thanks. Did the pain in the ear start after one week? Is that what you mean by ear problems, pain? Or has it anything to do with hearing loss and such?

Indeed, the only next worst thing is consulting WebMD which will tell you that you might be dying from a random form of cancer.

Sounds like BPPV: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_paroxysmal_positional_vertigo
I was diagnosed with it for a while until it turned out I had chronic hyperventilation instead, see if the symptoms fit and get it checked by an specialist.
