A website that I read occassionally mentions this technology often, I didn't really know what it was until I watched this, though. Someone may find it interesting, I don't know.

I don't think this is going to be some kind of technological breakthrough or something. It's cool, but I wouldn't get too optimistic.

I'm going to be building an N-scale model of a railroad in North Korea and am probably going to use 3D printing to make many of the things for it.

http://www.shapeways.com/ is the site that seems to be most popular.

Some sensationalist news article

Here is one of the pieces talked about an AR-15 rifle magazine that supposedly functions just fine.

I did not link the lower receiver here so that i wont get in trouble with the BA.

Obviously the time where we can actually print ourselves an assault rifle are still a long way ahead of us due to the fact its made out of many different materials to function.

But the thought of having Al Qaeda sitting in a room full of 3d printers churning out dozens of white plastic rifles really amuses me .

Dude, my 3D printer will just print out a cascading collection of *other* 3D printers, which will then be used to print out a whole *bunch* of bluhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh -- whatever -- so then *I* win....

There was some talk about this technology being used to "print" organs, one cell at a time. I must say that would be pretty damn useful

But then my organ-harvestable biological clone will be "unemployed"....
