The blackberry playbook upon which I am writing this is pretty dece- it's lighter than even my eee pc netbook and pocket-sized. Admittedly though, I only use it instead of my iphone because it's got a word processor. I find that ergonomically, tablets are in an awkward middle between laptops and smartphones in that they're too big to be used as gracefully as smartphones, but can't be used any better at a desk or on your lap. Pout.

Tablets are the middle ground of smartphones and laptops. Are laptops too big for you and possess an unnecessary capacity? Are smartphones too small for one and lacking in processing power? Then a tablet is perfect. Its not a bad goldilocks position actually. I was thinking of getting a tablet on black friday but they were sold out of the one I wanted.

I thought OP meant graphics tablets that artists use to make digital art, and I was about to go on a tirade of Ducky RAGE. Because I love my graphics tablet so much that I named it "Lenore." It makes worlds of difference between drawing with mouse. Yes. But this is off-topic.
