View Full Version : Constipation

I put this in chit-chat because I would not mind this degrading into just a poop-jokes thread after I got my questions answered.
I think I might be constipated again but I don't know how to tell for sure. I was constipated once before and it was last year. I didn't even know I was for awhile cuz I was still shitting a bit so I figured I couldn't have been until I went to the doctor and they took x-rays and were like "you're literally full of shit".
Now for 3 days I've had the same exact stabbing pains in my abdomine but I'm still shitting. I mean these pains can get REALLY fucking bad, last year I feel over in tears cuz my stomach hurt so bad (im not a big crying person when it comes to physical pain either).
I'm wondering if I should start taking some sort of laxatives again to clear out my system. I don't want to though if I don't need too cuz I have work wens-friday and it would suck beyond belief if I was bagging grocerys and was like "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck imma shit my pants".
Sooooo anyone know what I should do?

I do that already just not when I'm home cuz I'm 17 and my parents don't know I smoke. That definitely does work though.

dude, no offence but if you have bowel problems like that at 17, you need to sort your diet out

Do you know why that would be like that though? I wouldn't mind sorting out my diet but I'm not even unhealthy. I'm skinny as fuck, a vegetarian, and don't even eat a ton of junk food. I don't know what to do to fix it in the long run.

Are you drinking enough water? If you don't get enough water that can make you constipated. If you're not very active, taking a walk might help. You could also try eating lots of grapes, that seems to help me. I think other fresh fruit and veg works too. You could also try prunes or prune juice. I'd advise against taking laxatives unless it's totally necessary (although that could just be due to having screwed up my own digestive system by eating handfuls of them).

Of course I would usually consult the writings of the ancient rabbis for guidance, but surely they have nothing to say about how best to approach the problem of constipation...
If one wishes to work about the anus with a pebble or a chip of wood in order to open up his rectum [i.e. he has trouble relieving himself], he should work about it before he sits but should not work about it after he sits, because [this exposes him to the] danger of witchcraft.
...oh...OH...well, best bear that in mind, mate. Don't go taking any unnecessary risks! :)

I'd say start off small with some milk and magnesia on the first day, prunes on the second day, and if that doesn't work, some over the counter laxatives on the third day.
You could also work with your vegetarian diet to add in more fiber.
Then go see the doctor if all that doesn't work. God forbid you get fecal impaction. :scared:
Oh and fyi, coffee can constipate some people, I know it does me!

Oh and make sure you properly hydrate yourself while you do this, you will poop lots.

Eat more fiber. You can find it in a lot of food.
- Cereals (Raisin Bran, Fiber One, etc.)
- Beans
- Bread (Whole Wheat Bread, etc.)
- Granola bars (Fiber One)
- Pears
- Dried Fruit (if you don't mind a lot of preservatives...)
- Bananas
- Pasta
- Brown Rice
+ and a lot more. Read labels on the back of packages too.
There are a lot of products that promote healthy amounts of fiber.

sounds like dehydration -
eat green vegetables and drink a LOT of water try 2 litres a day if possible -
try to avoid laxatives unless emergency necessary - also exercise [i dont like that one have to force myself]
your system is out of synch
go to the doctor if nothing works

The last time I came out of the hospital I was bound up six days from Sunday. Psyllium husk powder worked really well, plus I know quite a few middle aged folks and folks on Atkins that swear by it.
EDIT - Plus all the stuff NOII said...

 It's ages since I've watched that show.
I don't think it's possible to kill yourself with laxatives, but it is possible to gain a tolerance and it takes a while to recover (and it's a pretty uncomfortable experience). Having bad body image issues will drive a person to do all kinds of crazy/gross things though. Bulimia really isn't pretty.
Anyway, my point was, laxatives are bad for your body in the long run, so you should find a better, more permanent way of dealing with your constipation issues.

this is only slightly related but I've lately wanted to put my fingers down my throat and induce puking whenever someone I hate is nearby.
but yeah strong iced coffee is good for these purposes imo. one of my friends is the same age as me (17) and he pretty much lives off awful fast food and it's no wonder he reckons his bowl movements are infrequent and terrible. that's always a problem, especially at this age.

Puking releases emotions, so I suppose that makes sense.

it's more a trolling thing. the only emotions I get from puking are bad ones. can't stand it.

Bread, water, walking or running and a tad bit of milk (NOT CHOCOLATE).
Listen to music while you shit too. Slow, smooth music. It helps.
