I stopped listening when he said "Of course not" when asked if capitalism has killed millions of people...

On a side not, when I get old. I am going to look just like that guy. By any means necessary.

Those "communists" were stupid as shit.

"Communism, stems out of Buddhist and christian teachings,"

"Buddhists were communist,"

"Communism is love for your fellow man, you're a misanthrope because you're a capitalist,"

This disgusting rhetoric makes me cringe. I'd rather be a capitalist than a communist who follows that putrid misinterpretation of Marxist thought.

EDIT: The camera guy doesn't seem like an ex-soviet citizen. He seems like someone who's reading shit of a textbook.

It is indeed incredibly lame to hear "communists" defending "communism" when they're basically just acting like social-democrats.

I'm sure Tibetan feudal lords or the monarchs in Ceylon (and the peasants in those and other Buddhist regions) would have been shocked to hear how they were communists.

Utopian Socialism stems in part out of Christian teachings. Scientific Socialism (aka Communism) stems from materialism. That's something any Communist should know.

Communism isn't love. It's the goddamn hammer we use to crush the class enemy.

Those bourgeois socialists are ten times worse then bourgeois economists or plain conservatives (ones like Fukoyama) because these guys have their heads up their asses

That's more socialism. Communism is what happens after the ruling classes are nothing more than crushed bits of societal history.

Of course just because someone is an ex-Soviet citizen doesn't mean that being born and living in the USSR gives you magical powers to understand its dynamic or its economy other than "X was scarce" or "we couldn't listen to Madonna."

Correct.

I hate how a lot of people who used to live there (ones I've encountered) think they have the ultimate intellectual authority on Marxism, and or Communism, because they waited 30 mins for toliet paper in the late 80's when they were 10.

The thing is many ex-soviets preferred life in the USSR compared to life post-USSR. Maybe life in America might be better in certain areas, but America has had 100s of years to develop.

Communism is a gore-splattered chainsaw that we cut the class enemy to bits with, as they scream in vain for mercy!Reminds me of Mehmet Shehu saying in 1961, "For those who stand in the way of party unity, a spit in the face, a sock in the jaw, and if necessary, a bullet in the head." Also reminds me of Hoxha in 1957 vowing to break off relations with the USSR if Panajot Plaku, a high-ranking military official who fled to Yugoslavia in protest against the "Stalinist" Albanian leadership, were admitted to the USSR, and Hoxha instead wanted Plaku sent back to Albania so that he could be hung in the central square. Then of course Shehu said later to Mikoyan that Stalin's mistake was not shooing everyone in the then-present Soviet leadership, and then Shehu said to Khrushchev in 1960 that the only mistake Stalin made was "not getting rid of you."

Not all that gory but yeah.

"The aim of our Party and of communism is the emancipation of the oppressed, of all those who suffer from economic exploitation, from lack of democratic freedom and, in general, from all forms and survivals of social inequality." - Hoxha.

Burnt by the Sun (Russian: Утомлённые солнцем, translit. Utomlyonnye solntsem, literally "Tired by the sun") is a 1994 film by Russian director and actor Nikita Mikhalkov. The film depicts the story of a senior Red Army officer and his family during the Great Purge of the late 1930s in the Stalinist Soviet Union. Like a tragedy by Sophocles, Burnt by the Sun takes place over the course of one day.

I agree.

Didn't Mao say something along the lines of the second sentence?
