Not watching the video, but "sales tax" is among the most regressive form of taxation there is - as wealthier save more of their money. That's why teabaggers like it. Some of them want to even apply it to necessities like food so the burden can be even more on the poor and less on the rich.

Of course this daft tea-bagger fuck is going to love a sales tax and this "transparency" thing is simply ascribing a property that this fuck thinks is desirable to something he likes and lacking in something he doesn't.
