I am looking for any information on this topic for an assignment. I have to argue whether it is plausible or not and am struggling with how to approach it/ what to include. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Historical materialism?

I think that's what this user means...

Yes, I think they are one and the same. I am wondering how to structure it and what to include. Looking for examples of where the theory could be argued to have been put into practice, and where it has failed.

OK read: "Introduction to the Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right"

Then The German Ideology-- where Marx and Engels really elaborate the principles of historical materialism.

Then M&E's works on the 1848 revolution Revolution and Counter-revolution in Germany, Class Struggles in France 1848-1850, Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte.

And various articles published in the Neue Rheinische Zeitung.
