Exploiting workers helped town's economy?

Wow! this is a lenghly article

I will be honest I didn't read it all. However what I did get from it is that this town, like many other US towns who relied on the labor of immigrants is hurting due to the crack downs on "illegal immigration".

It appears that this Kosher meat business was very abusive towards the work force. read about the numerous violations they committed.

I remember reading about this when it happened. Somebody I know used to use this example to bash the people who say immigrants don't contribute to the economy and that these raids are a wonderful idea. There are plenty of examples of such towns I believe.
