Hi all. Been in a funky depression for some time, but now I'm traveling around to Occupy protests in the U$ and finding my voice again. Life is hard, but the new awakening is exciting.
Glad there are places like this to create spaces for radical debate. Keep up the great work.
I have been active off and on for almost 30 years now. I have 2 daughters who are almost grown up. Co founded People Not Profit with my wife. We are affiliated with World Libertarian Socialist Network (WLSM). WLSM argues for a unity based on a libertarian socialist and libertarian marxist view of the transition period. People not Profit is an affinity group and WLSM affiliate that advocate a libertarian socialist view grounded in Raya Dunyayevskaya's theory of self-determining Subject as both ground for organization and a libertarian socialist transition period.
RevLeft is a great. Nice to meet you all.

Welcome fellow rebel:D
Life can be harsh, depressions are though, but if done right when you get out of it you're a better person than before. It gives a whole new perspective.

Just be prepared to get your nose and hands dirty in debates on revolutionary strategy. That's all I'll say.

Hi & welcome!
I've not read Dunyayevskaya which of her works would you recommend? And which one deals with her "theory of self determining Subject"? Also is there a mistake with the name or the abbreviation, WLSM World libertarian socialist Network should it not be WLSN?

WLSN, sorry. Nice to meet you all.
Dunayevskaya first puts forth her theory as the movement from practice in Marxism and Freedom, and develops it in Philosophy & Revolution as self-developing subject. In her last book on Rosa Luxembourg she starts developing her critique of Lenin. In Marxism and Freedom she goes over the changes inspired in Capital by the Civil War in the US and the Paris Commune - how the self-activity of the masses was the inspiration that helped Marx break through the philosophical critique in the Grundrisse, placing the subject, the worker, at the beginning, and putting theory, where he started, at the end in vol 4.

Sorry for double posting. This one must have been pending when I posted the other. Why am I still showing 0 posts and getting nagged to post?
It has been a long road to accept I have bi-polar depression and PTSD, and that it's not just a conspiracy of the man to keep me down. Unfortunately, the only solution the man has is to medicate you when you can't work within the system. Working to end the system that depresses me seems to be the only thing that helps. I realize now some people just can't work within the constraints of the capitalist system and make up part of the unemployed army.
Stay Strong!

The double-posting is fine, Revolting Rebel. We all make mistakes sometimes. I merged the threads for you (so I didn't have to delete any posts) and it's all fixed! :)
Let me know if you have any other problems, with the forums or with users.
