Socialist and communist parties will not create socialism or communism if they are elected into power. The federal government has jurisdiction over the entire nation. Moreover, they will never be elected into significant positions of power in America. That is why revolution is necessary. Even if they are, little will change. Look at Brazil.

Yes I know but is it possible to do so, say it was to happen somewhere like a town in the Dominican Republic or something like that. Is it possible to go in a small scale such as a town government or can it only work as a larger such as state or country?

+ it will only have little effect but if it remains socialist during next terms it may have others to look into a socialist direction.

Your question is not very clear, but if I understand you correctly, then the answer is yes.

San Francisco has a group called the Left Party that exists only to run candidates for public office in San Francisco...as far as I know, it has no other affiliates in other cities, though I expect they're looking forward to the day.

If you're really asking can you have "socialism in one city", the answer is almost certainly no.

No state government would permit a city to establish socialism.

In an extreme case, they'd simply abolish the city's charter...the city government would cease to exist as a legal entity and the city itself would probably be annexed by some neighboring city with an "acceptable" pro-business regime.

Cities in most places have extremely limited autonomy...there's nothing they can legally do about capitalism in any meaningful way.

Back in the 1930s and 40s, Milwaukee had a socialist mayor for decades. It didn't make any difference.
