Big changes coming soon, or not.
How do folks like this this forum? stickies good? any suggestions for improvement?
I think I will need to compile a "frequently addressed topics (FATs)" sticky in the near future.
Its obviously the best forum on the board, but can we make it better?

The forum seems good, though I haven't done much posting here so perhaps my opinion is slightly skewered. Will be looking forward to hearing about these changes.

Perhaps a good discussion would be the difference between Practice and Propaganda and Mutual Aid and DIY. I feel as though we may consider discussing merging the two if others feel it appropriate.

I think the difference between the two is that one is more focused on political action (Practice and Propaganda) while the other is more focused on personal matters (Mutual Aid and DIY).I think a merger would create some confusion.

I think it is clear if you read the descriptions. P and P is about tactics, etc. as an abstraction and how this related to various struggles and movements. Mutual Aid/DIY is for people to discuss topics related to their personal lives, ask others of help and discussion related to DIY culture.
But Ill agree there are grey areas and i see some topics that don't seem like they belong in either.

Indeed. I guess I'm reading "practice" as a mutual aid reality and "propaganda" as DIY. Just my thoughts.

I think this entire forum could use a re-organization... workers struggles and ongoing struggles... que?

IMO, Workers Struggles could be merged into Ongoing Struggles, while historical worker struggles would be covered by the History and Learning boards. I honestly see Workers' Struggles as redundant as well. However, I do wish the Mutual Aid board was more lively. At the risk of being called a lifestylist, I feel like this is something we need to emphasize more as leftists.

I'd like more lists of and links to guides, otherwise it's fine in my opinion.

I think we need a guide and PDF thread.

I think we need a guide and PDF thread.
Guides meaning? how to treat pepperspray; how to grow your own garden; how to build your own computer; stuff like that? kinda like a Mutual Aid DIY library?

I do realize it would be hard work, but i think some of the thread here could also be put into a some simplified PDF that people could download and share with their friends.
and also have some kind of library subforum with the link to various PDF and guides could be awsome.
we should keep the main DIY section for brainstorming/trial and error of proposed solutions and after a while put them in a PDF if they are proven useful and transfert them in their appropriate section in the guide subforum.

ambitious project, good idea.
I don't think any subfora will be added, the BA discourages such things.
