Is anyone here an active member of the current organization? I'm not yet in college, but I'm interested in joining and maybe helping to organize a chapter here when I do go to a university.

What are your thoughts on the organization? What good/bad experiences have you had? Does it have potential? Thanks.

There's one at my college. I don't think I've ever seen them actually do anything though.

The SDS is a rather divided organization in the sense that many of their chapters operate as little more than social hang outs for students while another,smaller fraction,of their chapters are the ones that actually engage in political activism.If you are able to find a politically active one than they are a good batch with a militant history but just be warned that many individuals in unregistered branches,might not be what you are expecting.
