Hello to all;
I consider myself to be an open-minded individual, who believes in the equal rights and opportunities for all. However; inorder to achieve true greatness; one must work by the sweat of his brow, and try not to exploit the simple mindedness of others.

Hello, and welcome to RevLeft.

I'm not sure that I totally agree with your formulation. For instance, if someone works hard to murder all of their neighbours, I wouldn't see that as truly great. I'd have much more admiration for someone who didn't work hard and ended up not murdering their neighbours.

I'd rather put it, 'true greatness comes from not being an asshole to people'.

Enjoy your time here.

Thank you Blake's baby;
you have presented a very interesting hypothesis; but I do find some inequalities. The action of murdering someone is not considered by me to be hard work; but actually the opposite. But I like the eloquence in your statement " true greatness comes from not being an asshole to people" . Well put:cool:!

I do agree OHumanistra,
But would like to add to your statement that our never ending curiosity of the unknown and unquenchable desires have added to this ascent of humanity.

Thank you Blake's baby;

I'm looking at this and thinking that that you must find it either easy to murder your neighbours, or enjoyable to murder your neighbours, or both, as the opposite of 'hard work' is surely 'easy play'. I hope none of these things are actually true, and I'm just not understanding you.

...But I like the eloquence in your statement " true greatness comes from not being an asshole to people" . Well put:cool:!

It's kind of you to say so; I do what I can.
