I have joined this site due to my interest in left wing politics, and generally to improve my understanding
Personally I consider myself too young, being a teenager, to declare a tendency, however I do mainly have interest in left libertarianism, though are very much open minded to other views

though this isn't really necessary, on my background, I come from a family were many liberal, conservative Christian and even far-right beliefs are held, with even a family member believing in theocracy, unfortunately I sometimes have to ignore racist comments made by family members
Interestingly one side of my family in the past owned mills and even a mine, whilst the otherside worked in them

I have gradually become a atheist,though do have positive inclinations to pantheism, though it's probably mainly a emotional thing, and besides pantheism (though more the materialist thought) has been described as atheism with lipstick XD

the reason I bring this up, is because this has greatly affected my beliefs and views

aside from politics and what not
I have many diverse interests, and am a absolute audiophile listening to music ranging from black metal to synth pop, to classical to hip-hip to ambient and whatever else makes me tick :)

as a student I hope I will learn from the forum and hopefully come out with a better understanding on my left wing politics ^^

Welcome, I am glad you decided to learn more about the left.:)
And indeed naturalist pantheism (like Spinoza's) can be seen as a sort of atheism. I was a pantheist myself for a short time.(now just a regular atheist)
Take your time learning, and ask if you need anything.

Welcome Green Mist.

Pull up a chair. Have a seat, make yourself comfy. Poke around. Don't be put off by all the name-calling. Enjoy.

@Rusty Shackleford

@OHumanista
I know about Spinoza, he has had a influence on me, it was actually anything written by atheists that brought me to atheism, actually deist writing had quite a affect on me, I study philosophy so I enjoy looking all sorts of views on such matters

@Blake's Baby

I more meant, when you see us all calling each other every name under the sun, try not to get so disgusted at our sectarianism and super-inflated self-importance that you decide we're all worthless losers.

But, also, try not to let anyone calling you names put you off either...
