how the hell is blair witch scary? it was nothing but nauseating camera movement with no story, just some shit about a map.

Hey the blair witch project scared me: of course I was a young un when I first saw it so yeah. What was the name of the second one? That one is a pieceashit. Alot of times most sequals or prequals are though. Which reminds me, I still haven't seen dumb and dumberer.

It seems like eveyone I know has bought Finding Nemo. I haven't seen that either yet

Let's just say it's more than the sum of its parts.

I've watched loads of horror films -

texas chainsaw massacre (1974)
both blair witches
ringu and ringu 2 (japanese "ring")

and a few more. The only ones that have come any close to scaring me are the Japanese "Ringu" and "Ringu 2" and even then they were too scary.

Ringu is scray. So is Audition, another Japanese horror classic.

Well, the way it was filmed was interesting, the night scenes switching between the two handheld cameras was effective I thought. The actors WERE genuinely scared, and the finale in the house is shocking to say the least. You obviously didn't "get it", fair enough. I thought it was a small slice of genuis myself.

genius? give me a break! it was just them running around the woods saying fuck every other word nothing interesting in camera work as the actors who are supposed to be film students cant even operate a camera and that final scene was a joke just screaming running downstairs and then the camera being droped. go rent or buy a real horror flick instead of this MTV garbage.

No need for the insults  I undestand you like conventional horror movies, that's your perogative. I also like more conventionally shot horror movies, but I did also enjoy Blair Witch. There has to have been some sort of substance to it when it cost $30,000 to shoot and made more than $200,000,000 at the box office.

The Blair Witch didn't scare me, however I was very pleased that the girl at the end "gets it" though. She was truly annoying. In fact, the movie probably would have been better if they had killed her right away.

i hate big budget horror movies its only worked well with Alien and Aliens and Exorcist the best horror is shot on low budget take classics like Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elmstreet, and I think The Evil Dead shot on low budgets all regarded as some of the best horror movies ever, a sugestion if you want to see a hirlarious and probally one of the goriest movies of all time check out Peter Jackson's Dead Alive then check out Meet the Feebles by him basicly its Muppets on acid with sex and drugs

"Audition" is crazy, man, its just sick. No good. Some scary movies have suspense; this one just makes you not want to look because its gross.

I thought it was suspensful in places, but it certainly has graphic violence.

Blair Witch scared the shite out of me; the thing with horror is that it builds on your own existing paranoia, and I'd experienced enough episodes of getting lost in jungles and hearing all sorts of crazy shit that it did freak me, somewhat.

i still dont see how it could be scary

I liked Blair Witch when I saw it alot. I just don't think it's the kind of movie I'd watch twice.

Victor, maybe you just didn't "get it". I thought the movie was going to have some cool witch hacking people up, and I was a bit disappointed, but really, that almost made it scarier. Something about it made it seem a bit more real than the average horror flick. This one was scary in a far ore subtle way. And this is coming from a guy that likes some of the cheesiest, bloodiest horror movies ever, the Sleepaway Camp series.

i guess im more of a classic horror film fan i really dont want to see most of this MTV audience targeted crap that comes out, these "remakes" are crap how can you do a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and not include the dinner table scene? And these new teen slasher films are utter crap I dont have any clue how someone could like Scream or its crappy sequels or that I know what you did last summer crap? Ever notice that most of the actors are either WB stars or would be WB rejects? Sometimes a filmaker will make a horror movie that is an original idea but it doesnt look like its happening for awhile.
