Horrible? This film is a work of art, trancending...everything. It is the greatest cinematic masterpiece of the last ten years. Tommy Wiseau is truly incredible, putting so much energy and passion into the role. You just dont understand the deep existential undertones to the story.

I do actually think that the sign of a great film is its memorability in those that have watched it; which is why this film is particularly good. I mean, how on earth could I forget Tommy Wiseau's mockery of a body pretending to have sex?

The Room. THE ROOM! It's a wonderful film, except when it's horrible. Then it's HORRIBLY WONDERFUL! Good for a watch! Or two.

The Room was novelty wore off after the first time I watched. Watching it drunk with a friend who hadn't seen it before was fun though.

It seems like I've made my thoughts known on this film before, but just in case:
The Room for the most part isn't that special an entry in bad movie land, you can find any number of other films with the same level of non-acting and terrible plot that The Room has (the direct-to-video market is full of em). The only thing that puts the Room ahead of the mass of cinematic crap is the enigma that is Tommy Wisseau. His "acting style" in the Room is unlike anything I've ever seen...it's...uh. Words can't even describe. It's almost like he's an alien who somehow managed to assume human form, and is trying to act like a human being despite not having any idea how humans actually behave.
It was funny the first time I watched it, but I can only watch it in small doses now. The feeling I get if I try to watch extended sequences of it can probably be best described as "brain nausea".

The Room is genius. No one could make that on purpose.
And here is The Room the game!

Tommy Wiseau seems so enthusiastic about making movies that I just can't help but feel bad for him. Here he is thinking he is some kind of cinematic genius while everybody else just laughs. At least he has taken his cult status in stride.

It was hilariously terrible. Although I would like to go to a cinema where apparently he encourages people to boo and throw stuff at the screen.

Theater 21 in Portland dedicates certain days solely to making fun of that movie, and has a whole guide on how to mock it effectively.

Ah yes, The Room. A fine masterpiece of modern cinema about home furnishings. The apartment complex appears to be located in a pocket dimension that appears to be San Francisco, but is not, allowing for transcendence of the space-time continuum.

Never seen this film, but from the clips in this thread it looks absolutely terrible. And some people actually like it?
What are its redeeming features? Is it just one of those films that are so bad they can be funny to watch if you're stoned enough?
