Hello revleft, I am an American marxist-Leninist, atheist. I have studied a lot about communism/socialism and while Im familiar with the most basic ideas and practice I'm certainly no exspert and hope to learn a lot with my time here. In addition to English I also speak a good amount French, German and Russian (of those 3 my Russian is best). From what I have seen of this site so far there appears to be a lot of diversity between leftist beliefs, not all of which I understand entirely but never the less am glad to see here. There seems to alot of good discussion and ideas being thrown around here and a lot to take in.
I'm a Marxist- Leninist and atheist and to be frank in my community that if frowned upon. I don't try to contradict the views of society as a whole but here in America I feel as though there is a huge wave of ignorance and stupidity that seeps it's way into just about everyones lives. I feel like communists are misunderstood and that our government, media and education systems help this issue in anyway. While I have read some of marx's work my studies on communism are for the most part limited to the history books.
Being so new leftism if anyone has some articles or books to further my understanding I would be more than happy to hear about them.
