KMFDM?

I must admit Ive never heard a single song by these guys, I dont even know what genre theyre in (although I have a suspicion theyre metal because the only people who listen to them in my hick town are some metalheads). To cut to the point today one of those metalheads, not political, a big stoner in fact, shows up at school today with a black shirt with KMFDM in red and yellow lettering and a big scythe & hammer in the middle and on the back. Today when I got home I decided to look up some of there lyrics and a lot of them definately seemed to have a leftist message with them. I was wondering are these guys commies? if not whats up with them using the scythe & hammer on their shirts?

KMFDM is apolitical but still enjoys using a lot of former East German and Soviet symbols because they give off that "rigid" feeling that a lot of Industrial bands like.
