Impossibilism

Can someone expand what impossiblism is? What i gather from the wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impossibilism) is that it is what most communist parties represent or at least should.

Any thoughts? Expansion? I am still unsure what it is...or why the Socialsit Party of Canada would refer to their ideology as "Impossibilism".
