http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/23/buddy-roemer-occupy-wall-street-scuffy_n_1110726.html,

He's talking with, and sympathising with Occupy Wall Street protesters?

If he ever had a shot at establishment support he killed it now, by the way, what kind of world is it where a republican sympathises with OWS before a democratic president does.

Anyway, it was interesting to see a guy giving the workers make the value with their labor and mind argument and buddy aggreeing.

I don't know what to make of this personally.

Make of it exactly as he says. I know him personally. Hes from my city. Hes old school Louisiana populist much like Huey Long was in spite of being a Republican. I am so tempted to register a republican just to vote for him in the primaries its taking all I got not to. I mean hell it doesnt matter anyway.

Very Clever.

This is the most dangerous kind of action towards the OWS movement. The point of a protest is to draw attention to an issue. When politicians and conservatives scoff off the movement it only radicalizes them. Approching them with an open mind and understanding would have the opposite effect.

Furthermore, the fact that that this man is a republican and self-described conservative is even more effective. It is the "Only Nixon could go to China" syndrome.

Well he wont make it past the primaries, and as he did say he doesnt prescribe to abolishing the system but reforming it. And I know for a fact he means that. But when he reformed the La. State system, preceding Edwin Edwards, the state prospered.

And by the way RedZezz, he didnt scoff off the movement, he empathized with it. His son is considered a radical, who knows, he may be rubbing off old dad.

I didn't say that Roemer scoffed at the movement, I said when politicians, such as Ron Paul or Cain, scoff at the movement it will only radicalize them.

However, since Roemer approched them sympathetically, it will have the opposite effect. This could defuse the movement if the protesters believe someone in power is listening to them and willing to reform to a certain extent.

It is channeling energy back into a reformist position.

I think your being a little synicle here, of coarse NO politician is going to back revolution.

I gotta learn more about this guy, he seams like he's a republican to the left of Obama ... Who I hear is a communist.

I had cspan2 on in the background a month or two ago and it was Buddy giving some press conference relating to his campaign. It seemed to me that he was really hamming up the whole "sweet old guy" angle but nonetheless I found myself kind of liking him personally. Then his whole demeanor changed and his face got really dark and he said something to the effect of "I'm speaking to you here, in front of the Chinese embassy, because it's the root of the problem in this country today... rah rah rattle rattle".

Then I realized he's just another fuck trying to capitalize on xenophobia.
