I was debating putting this in the S&E forum, but it's kind of a pointless question I guess.
Anyway, why hasn't this happened.

Not technologically possible yet, too expensive to produce.

Think of how awesome it would be, though. Robots with no conscience, no mercy...
Then you could create robots who could act as your robot workers, after all the non-rich people get exterminated.

Insufficient profit incentive most likely. Capitalist aren't famous for thinking in the long term.

It's not technologically possible. Our crappy robots can barely even move without assistance, let alone enforce the will of the upper class.

because if robots achieved self awareness they wouldn't buy into all the propaganda and they'd realise their class position and that it was in there interests to overthrow their masters. Hey someone should make a film about that

Because it would cause the falling rate of profit to hit rock bottom. If all labor was done by machines, where'd the surplus come from? Robot designers would be the only workers to exploit and then when they went on strike, the whole system would crash :D
And if robots designed robots, then yes they'd become self-aware and make themselves the new ruling class over humanity since they'd have the monopoly over production - and we'd have to send hacked Terminators back in time to prevent the whole thing from happening.
