While at Russia, where legendary Monson came to fight with no less legendary Fedor, he used his time to visit local antifa crew in Moscow and hold a seminar.

For those who haven't heard of Monson, shame on you. :) He has an anarchist tattoo (http://www.criticalbench.com/images/JeffMonson1.jpg) on his chest, and got arrested two years ago (he was already very famous) for vandalizing the Washington State Capitol by spray-painting an anarchy symbol, a peace symbol and the words 'no poverty' and 'no war' on the large columns at the front of the building.

I would say, in my experience here in the states, the WP dudes tend to be much better fighters than antifa peeps.

There are acts of violence against and even murders of Africans, Caucasians (Armenians, Georgians, etc.) and Chinese/Vietnamese who come to the country to study. The police often help the thugs escape punishment. I certainly wouldn't vacation there.

Usually they occur after football matches, in which drunken hooligans run amok and jump on anything non Slavic looking. But, attacks in crowded squares and in the Metro have occurred as well. Non white students have to travel in groups to allay the possibility of assault.

When I was in Estonia visiting close friends.. they introduced me to some Russians who told me that If I wanted to go to Moscow that I should go with local Russians. So next year If I go back to Estonia I would take them up on the offer they made me to go with them.

I had totally forgotten about that Hoelzer Reich clothing line. What was most shocking to me was not only how many fighters were wearing it out to the cage, but how many fans thought it was no big deal. Being an MMA fan can get you into some bad, reactionary, company. The community has issues. Dude, I'm a pretty small guy, I'm 73 kilos, most guys in the infantry in my experience aren't very big, the huge buff dudes in the military are always non-combat types who hang around post all day, work in an office and have the ability to eat good food and go to the gym. Meanwhile we eat shitty food (if we eat at all) and spend all our time in the field.

I actually got out of shape while I was in Iraq, because I didn't have time/energy for the gym, and haven't been able to get a routine since (but have found plenty of time to drink, leading to that super attractive "skinny guy with a beer belly" look).

last fight I saw with Monson was his title match against Tim Silvia, I was pulling hard for Monson, but his lack of striking ability and short reach lost it for him.
