Just, fuck it. I mean what is there to say? How these people are even allowed to even set foot in the congress of anything is beyond me. I wouldn't let them organize a preschool fundraiser.
You know what, at this point we should just have a sub-forum called "Stupid ass shit politicians say"

Stupidity and power are a very very dangerous combination.

LOL!
Yeah, honestly, with how stupid these statements and ideologies are...I'm hesitant to post them in the "Politics" section. Still, it's the reality that we live in...these are the people that would love to be president...*sigh*

This shouldn't surprise people. The Republican party especially has been banging the drums on deficits all the while proceeding with interventions and wars for decades now. Both parties are responsible for it as Clinton cut spending as well and Obama is doing the same now while continuing with adventures in Congo and Afghanistan. They are bourgeois parties, what else could we expect?

Not to put too fine a point on it, boys and girls, but I thought the US had more guns than people in it. Why are people like this not done away with at a more satisfactory rate? It confuses me.

He's not being stupid. The capitalist class needs a huge military especially during these times. Even the benign occupy wall st. movement is costing the capitalist class quite a bit to clean up, and of course this is the tipping point for US imperialism in the Middle East. Its all or nothing right now. They can't risk to lose Syria to the competition (Russia).

Oh Romney and the rest of the lot are far from being stupid. They know what they are doing and they are doing it quite well. They are in this for their own class preservation they don't give two flying fucks about the Proletariat and the other people they step on.

RedBrother and Commisar Rykov, I guess you are both correct. Romney isn't stupid, it is those that would vote for him that are stupid. I can't believe there are actually people in this country that are still sold on right-wing politics, given the events of the past few years. It's insane.
But then, IMHO, the righties may have actually helped the Socialist cause, by being so extremist. A LOT of people I talk to these days are open to embracing Socialism, something we might not have seen ten or twenty years ago.

Agreed, they will just further alienate those not in their class. Though that doesn't help any of us much if he gets into office. Honestly I hate the election cycle as it is utterly depressing as people rally around candidates more interested in shafting them than anything else. As you said though hopefully this will do the Socialist cause a lot of good and wake people up.

I don't think comments like this are "stupid" or "wrong," but instead demonstrate a particular alignment with a particular class. Of course folks on RevLeft.com aren't going to be surprised about this, and are going to be annoyed. But it does provide an opportunity to show how the establishment (or at least many in the running the top echelon) is quite class conscious.

Saying things like this is in a 'democracy' should be harmful to ones chances. But its the campaign funding that is important and wooing the rich. A reason why the US is a 'non-functioning democracy'.
