I wonder why there aren't any big news agencies covering this? Do you guys think is true? This really sucks! It seems that Russia is taking the Assad government side on this. There just isn't anyone out there that actuallu cares for the Syrian people. Sounds like yet an other ideological battle between East and West.

Of note is that Syria is the only country outside the former USSR in which the Russians still have a naval presence of any consequence:
