I came across "MarxismToday" with a series of presentation on the basics and outline of Marxist thought. How reliable are they? I know that they aren't a substitute for an actual reading of Karl Marx, but how useful are they for a condensed, simple-to-understand explanation of Marxist theory?

Marxism Today was the theoretical magazine of the old Stalinist CPGB and was discontinued when the Eurocommunists dissolved the party in 1991. It was controlled, as far as I know, by the Eurocommunist wing of the party and it was known for its soft take on Marxism, this was the type of "marxism" acceptable for the capitalists (i.e. useless rubbish).

That said, I have never read Marxism Today myself, this is from older comrades who did read it when it was still around.

^^ This person made a bunch of podcasts on dialectics, materialism, estranged labor, etc. I was just wondering how useful this source is before I spend time going through it.

Sounds like you're talking about two different things.

Marxism Today was the theoretical magazine of the old Stalinist CPGB and was discontinued when the embarrassing tradition of compromise, cowardice and general incompetence that was the CPGB finally shrivelled up and died.
Fixed. :D

Yeah, I wasn't talking about any youtube podcast. This brings me to the point to ask the OP (and really anyone asking questions) to be specific when asking a question. If I had known this was about some youtube podcast, I wouldn't have made the previous post, obviously.

Amiel and Melburn actually have an archive of Marxism Today (the magazine) online.
