This was posted by one of my Facebook friends from the US last night. This is obviously an attempt to encourage collaboration, and make the Tea Party out to be an ally of the working class.

I remember reading something about the blogger who originally did this. I don't think it's quite as sinister as you think. You have to realize that this is far from being an explicitly revolutionary or even "leftist" movement yet, and that a whole lot of people are simply trying to reconcile these two huge national movements that are happening right now. The guy who made this is a libertarian I think.

Anyway, it's a decent point from within the framework of liberal democratic discourse, which is of course how it was intended to be received. There are a lot of people who are very dissatisfied with the current state of things and it is true that, in a lot of circumstances, the main differences between these two groups lie in the angle they take on the same issues.

Right now, both the tea party and OWS are basically just amorphous blobs that lean in one direction or another, but they do share a number of grievances (even if their respective supporters would vehemently deny this). I don't think that it's a very bad thing, either. Are you saying that it is bad to point out that there could be common ground between proletarians who are aligned with these two groups? Doesn't that mean that there is room for those on the right to be won over should conditions progress as they are?

I think I misinterpreted it then. I saw it as a way in which the Tea Party was trying to make themselves out to be aligned with the OWS crowd. I don't think the OWS needs their support and I quite frankly have a very hostile view towards them. We should accept all those who are influenced away from the Tea Party, however to try and collaborate with them seems counterrevolutionary.

We should be happy little bunnies......it means that people already subscribe to our view. We just have to let them know it. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth !" An old, old saying.

Over the years I have been warned of so many poisoned chalices....my head spins from it

Hawkins: I've got it! I've got it! The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true! Right?
Griselda: Right. But there's been a change: they broke the chalice from the palace!
Hawkins: They *broke* the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.
Hawkins: A flagon...?
Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.
Hawkins: Flagon with a dragon.
Griselda: Right.
Hawkins: But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?
Griselda: No! The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon! The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!
Hawkins: The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
Griselda: Just remember that.
Griselda: [Correcting Hawkins' recitation of the directions about the drinks] No! The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle... ....

...the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true. Even I can say it!......:p

The Tea party doesn't want to shrink government. The tea party wants the government to fight wars for them, crush unions, destroy left demonstrations, etc. They are the stupid part of the bourgeoisie, while the smart members know regulation is nrcessary for capitalism and their position as exploiters to survive.

The government is always a tool for a class. Under capitalism, for the bourgeoisie to excise it's power.

We are not against corporations because they're greedy. We oppose them because they are the way our class enemy organizes itself into.

OWS is NOT the representatives of the radical left in the way the tea party represent the petite bourgeoisie.
