This Che quote has had me thinking.
The dictatorship tries to function without resorting to force so we must try to oblige it to do so, thereby unmasking its true nature as the dictatorship of the reactionary social classes. This event will deepen the struggle to such an extent that there will be no retreat from it. The success of the people's forces depends on the task of forcing the dictatorship to a decision — to retreat, or to unleash the struggle — thus beginning the stage of long-range armed action.
I have been thinking about this quote for a while now and I view it as an excellent method laid out to mobilize the masses. The people must provoke the bourgeoisie to act in such a way that it will bring about solidarity. Part of me is thinking that in order for things to get better, they have to get much, much worse. In this way it will be made obvious to people that the government is not their friend, neither are the police, military, or any other faction associated with the government. We have to provoke the bourgeoisie into making an unwarranted response, and in that way we can begin to organize the masses against them.
I am just thinking out loud now and feel it would be good to discuss this here.
